Raimundo Rubio will present his works in oil on canvas and mixed

media on paper as his exploration into the hidden spaces between

the rational and the emotional. Rubio resides in Brooklyn after having

lived in DC for many years in which time he became the most collected

artist in the metro area, as told by The Washinton Post Magazine.

DUENDE - the spirit of inspiration

DUENDE - an invocation to the spirit of flamenco through
dance and storytelling

by SARA CANDELA at KULTURAs books in Tenleytown
Thursday November 18th at 8pm

Sara Candela will perform and tell the story of Spain's flamenco
dance & music genesis as the convergence of African, Eastern
and European cultures.

"DUENDE" is the Spaniard's word for "flow" as an expression
of inspiration and creativity and its appearance in our everyday
lives.

ABOUT SARA CANDELA:
Sara began her flamenco training with Ana Martinez and Paco de
Malaga of Andalucia, Spain. She has lived and studied extensively
in Andalucia with master gypsy teachers who pass on the thread and
spirit of flamenco to younger generations.

She has also choreographed and acted in various co-productions
of Gala Hispanic Theater and the Smithsonian's Discovery Stage.
In 2005 Sara moved to Chile, where she performed with some of
Chile's performing elites. Back in Washington since 2009 she is
currently a youth educator at Joe's Movement Emporium and teaches
flamenco to children and adults at DC Dance Collective in Tenleytown.
Sara holds a BA from American University in Latin American Studies

doors in Santa Monica on July 20th and

relocating back to Washington, DC where

we expect to be up and running by November.

at the country mart and found these black & white diamonds "aiglets"

Happy to report we have found our space in LALA land. After much searching and many mananas we can now give you our address as 1700 Ocean Park Blvd. in Santa Monica. We are now madly painting and cleaning a very bright, good sized space to ready it for the books' arrival. We will keep posting progress......
